Art Commission
Service Description
Monochrome art with Chinese ink offers a medium that is exceptional to express feeling and the character of the subject. The artwork is built up slowly using many layers, some layers needs drying before the next layer is applied, some layers are done in rapid succession, depending on the feeling conveyed. All needed to to give more depth and character to the work. - The Ink Chinese ink is a centuries old medium. The ink stick is a mixture of lamp black, oil soot or pine soot, mixed with animal glue and some perfume. The stick is ground on a hand carved ink stone to form the ink used in my paintings. The ink is permanent, waterproof and very resistant to fading. Ink work is very permanent and expressive. Every stroke is deliberate. It stains the paper and layering creates a depth that captures the soul of the person. I don't just copy a photo of your loved one; I paint their spirit and character. - How the commission works: We have a discussion and decides what needs to be done and in what size. When you are happy with what I can do for you, only then do you pay a non refundable deposit and I start the work. I keep you updated with photos of the process. - The Pricing Structure The final price for the work will be determined by the amount of people in the work and the size.
